2021: Steele returned as a junior in 2021 for his third season as a starter. Overall in 2021 while starting USC's first 11 games (all but California), he had 34 tackles, including 2 for losses of 21 yards (with a 19-yard sack), plus 3 deflections, 2 interceptions and a forced fumble. He made *2021 All-Pac-12 honorable mention and Phil Steele All- Pac-12 second team.

2020: Steele was solid while starting again at cornerback as a sophomore in 2020. Overall in 2020 while starting all 6 games, he had 26 tackles, 4 deflections and an interception. He was named to the *2020 All-Pac-12 second team and Phil Steele All-Pac-12 second team.

Steele had a tackle and 2 deflections against Arizona State, then had 3 tackles at Arizona. He had 5 tackles and an interception at Utah, then 5 tackles against Washington State. He had 11 tackles and 2 deflections at UCLA, then 2 tackles against Oregon.

2019: Steele had an impressive debut season as a first-year freshman cornerback in 2019. Overall in 2019 while appearing in 12 games (all but Colorado) and starting 6 times (Utah, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, California, UCLA), he had 35 tackles, including 1 for a loss of 1 yard, plus 5 deflections and a fumble recovery. He sprained his knee in practice prior to the Colorado game and missed that game. He originally enrolled at Florida in the spring of 2019 after graduating a semester early from high school and participated in 2019 spring practice, but transferred to USC in the fall of 2019 and was granted a waiver by the NCAA to play immediately.

He had 1 tackle against Fresno State, 2 tackles and a deflection at BYU, 4 tackles against Utah, 5 tackles and a fumble recovery at Washington, 5 tackles and a deflection at Notre Dame, 3 tackles against Arizona, 3 tackles (1 for a loss) against Oregon, 3 tackles against Arizona State, a tackle and deflection at California, 6 tackles against UCLA and 2 tackles with a deflection against Iowa.

HIGH SCHOOL: He made 2018 USA Today All-USA first team, PrepStar Dream Team, Max Preps All-American first team, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, USA Today All-California first team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team, Orange County Register Fab 15, All-CIF Division 1 and Long Beach Press-Telegram Dream Team first team as a senior cornerback at St. John Bosco High in Bellflower (Calif.). He had 32 tackles, 11 deflections, 2 blocked field goals and an interception in 2018.

As a junior in 2017, he made Max Preps Junior All-American first team, USA Today All-California second team and Cal-Hi Sports All-State Juniors second team as he had 22 tackles and 4 deflections. In 2017, he had 81 tackles, 7 deflections, an interception and a fumble recovery, plus a 19-yard kickoff return.

As a 2016 sophomore, he made the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Sophomores first team while making 93 tackles. Current Trojans Ralen Goforth, Jude Wolfe, Spencer Gilbert, Will Rose, Kobe Pepe, Danny Lockhart Jr., Matt Colombo and Maximus Gibbs also prepped at St. John Bosco.
