Tuitt is Digest Player of the Week

STEPHON TUITT
Defensive End

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Maybe it was the rain, or maybe it was the revolving door of personnel on both sides, but this was not a game for the offenses. And as a result, it's not a surprise that the defense got things started for the Steelers, and then it was the defense that shut the door on what ended up being an 18-6 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Leading the way for the Steelers defense was Stephon Tuitt, who in his brief playing time finished with two sacks, one of which came on third down and forced the Titans to punt, and the other, also coming on a third down, resulted in a safety when he got Marcus Mariota on the ground in the end zone to give the Steelers a 2-0 lead.

Tuitt is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.

Also considered was Cam Heyward, who had four tackles, and a sack; Tuzar Skipper, who had four tackles, one of which was a strip-sack that was recovered by Tyson Alualu to end another Titans possession; Ben Roethlisberger, who completed 8-of-13 for 63 yards, with a touchdown to JuJu Smith-Schuster, no interceptions, and a rating of 99.2; Ian Berryman, who averaged 45 yards on his two punts, with both inside the 20-yard line; Robert Spillane, who led the team with five tackles and added a sack late in the fourth quarter to end Tennessee's legitimate hopes at winning the game; and James Conner, who finished with 56 yards scrimmage (41 rushing on five carries, plus 15 more on two receptions.
