Steelers sign three

The Steelers signed three players on Monday who were previously with the Alliance of American Football, including defensive tackle Winston Craig, linebacker JT Jones and cornerback Kameron Kelly.

Craig, who played the for San Antonio Commanders of the now defunct AAF, originally signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017, but was released before the start of the season. The Eagles brought him back in the 2018 offseason, but he was released following the preseason. Craig played college football at Richmond.

Jones, who played for Miami University (Ohio), signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2017 and spent the year on the team's practice squad. He was released by the Falcons before the start of the 2018 season and most recently played for the Atlanta Legends in the AAF. He was a second-team All-MAC selection his senior season at Miami, recording six and a half sacks.

Kelly was signed by the Dallas Cowboys in 2018 as an undrafted rookie free agent following the draft. Kelly, who played college ball at San Diego State, was released by the Cowboys before the start of the 2018 season. He played with the AAF's San Diego Fleet. At San Diego State he was first-team All- Mountain West Conference in 2017 and won the Byron H. Chase Memorial Trophy as the Aztecs defensive player of the year.
