The Steelers released tight end Jonnu Smith.
Smith was acquired by the Steelers last year in a trade with the Miami Dolphins.
Smith has appeared in 141 games, with 91 starts, while playing for the Tennessee Titans (2017-20), New England Patriots (2021-22), Atlanta Falcons (2023), Dolphins (2024) and Steelers.
He has 345 receptions for 3,529 yards, a 10.8-yard average, and 30 touchdowns. He also has 19 carries for 126 yards, a 6.6-yard average, and one touchdown.
In 2025, Smith had 38 receptions for 222 yards, a 5.8-yard average, and two touchdowns.
Earlier this week the team also released offensive lineman Calvin Anderson.
Anderson, who was originally signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft, has appeared in 59 career games, starting 14.
Anderson was signed by the Steelers during the 2024 season and appeared in four games that year, but finished the regular season on the Reserve/Injured List. He was activated and appeared in the Steelers Wild Card Game against the Baltimore Ravens in 2024.
