Steelers promote Allen

Cornerback Brian Allen was promoted to the 53-man roster on Tuesday, after spending the first four weeks of the season on the team's practice squad.

Allen, the team's fifth-round draft pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, played in 10 regular season games last season and had two special teams tackles. He made his NFL debut against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 17, 2017. Allen also played in the Steelers postseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The team placed safety Nat Berhe on the team's reserve/injured list. Berhe, who signed with the team as an unrestricted free agent this offseason, suffered a torn pectoral muscle against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday night.
