Steelers make roster moves

The day before their first preseason game, the Steelers made several roster moves. The team placed first-year cornerback DeMarkus Acy and first-year offensive tackle Anthony Coyle on the Waived/Injured List.

Acy, who played college football at the University of Missouri, was signed by the Steelers in early May.

Acy originally signed with the San Francisco 49ers following the 2020 NFL Draft as an undrafted rookie free agent. He was released prior to the start of the regular season and then spent part of the year on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad.

Coyle, who played at Fordham, signed with the Steelers in the 2020 offseason. Prior to that he was with the New York Guardians in the XFL.

He was originally signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft. After spending time with the Texans, he was signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad. He also spent part of the 2019 season on the Atlanta Falcons practice squad.
