Steelers add Carter to mix on defense

The Steelers have signed defensive end T.J. Carter.

Carter was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft, but released before the start of training camp. He also spent time with the New Orleans Saints last preseason.

Carter played college football at Kentucky, where he started 28 of the 50 games he played. He finished with 71 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, six sacks, five pass defenses and 10 quarterback hurries.

He had his best season in 2019 when the senior had 26 tackles, six tackles for a loss, four quarterback hurries and two sacks, all career highs.
