The Steelers will play five nationally televised primetime games, it was announced today when the NFL released its 2011 regular season schedule.

Pittsburgh's nationally televised primetime games at Heinz Field include one against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 8:20 p.m., and another on Thursday night, Dec. 8 at 8:20 p.m. against the Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh's other national primetime games include road contests Sunday, Sept. 25 at Indianapolis (8:20 p.m.), Sunday, Nov. 27 at Kansas City (8:20 p.m.) and Monday, Dec. 19 at San Francisco (8:30 p.m.).

"We are pleased that our fans across the country will have several opportunities to watch us play during primetime throughout the fall," said Steelers President Art Rooney II. "We look forward to another exciting season at Heinz Field and the challenge of defending the AFC Championship."

In addition to the Steelers' two home primetime contests, Pittsburgh will play six more games at Heinz Field – Week 2 vs. Seattle (1 p.m.), Week 5 vs. Tennessee (1 p.m.), Week 6 vs. Jacksonville (1 p.m.), Week 8 vs. New England (4:15 p.m.), Week 13 vs. Cincinnati (1 p.m.) and Week 16 vs. St. Louis (1 p.m.), a game that will be played on Saturday, Dec. 24.

For the first time since 2007, the Steelers will kick off their NFL season on the road, this time against their AFC North rivals, the Baltimore Ravens, on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. Additionally, Pittsburgh will play at Houston in Week 4 (1 p.m.), at Arizona in Week 7 (4:05 p.m.), at Cincinnati in Week 10 (1 p.m.) and at Cleveland in Week 17 (1 p.m.).

The Steelers' annual bye week will be on Nov. 20 (Week 11).

All Sunday games beginning in Week 11 (Nov. 20) through the remainder of the regular season are subject to flexible scheduling and could be moved into the Sunday night time slot (8:20 p.m.). The NFL will provide at least 12 days notice of time changes due to the "flex" scheduling. Week 17 start time changes could be decided on six days notice to ensure a game with playoff implications. Flexible scheduling will not impact Thursday, Saturday or Monday night games.

The Steelers open their four-game preseason schedule Friday, Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at FedEx Field against the Washington Redskins. Pittsburgh will play back-to-back home games the following two weeks, Aug. 18 (Thursday) versus the Philadelphia Eagles and Aug. 27 (Saturday) against the Atlanta Falcons. The Steelers conclude their preseason schedule with a road trip to the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, Sept. 1. Three of the Steelers' preseason games, with the exception of Week 2 versus Philadelphia, will be televised locally on KDKA (channel 2). Fans can listen to every Steelers game throughout the preseason and the regular season on the Steelers Radio Network on WDVE-FM (102.5) and WBGG-AM (970).
