Rudolph is Digest Player of the Week

MASON RUDOLPH
Quarterback

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For anyone who had any lingering doubts, those should be gone now. At issue was whether it was going to be Josh Dobbs or Mason Rudolph who would serve as Ben Roethlisberger's backup for the 2019 regular season, and if you weren't convinced that Rudolph had done enough through the first three preseason games, the finale here clinched it.

Rudolph completed 7-of-11 passes for 125 yards, with one, touchdown, no interceptions, and a rating of 132.8. For the preseason, Rudolph completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 368 yards, with four touchdowns, one interception, and a rating of 113.3.

Rudolph is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.

Also considered were Tuzar Skipper, who had six tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and two tackles on special teams; Jayrone Elliott, who had five tackles, plus a sack-strip-recovery that he returned 88 yards for a touchdown; and Christian Kuntz, who had three tackles, a sack, two special teams tackles, and handled the long-snapping duties for seven punts and four placement kicks.
