FOXBOROUGH, Ma. – To say there was little worthy of praise when it comes to the Steelers 33-3 loss to New England in the regular season opener is an understatement. The Steelers were handled in all three phases of the game, and New England posted one of the most decisive victories since the NFL decided to showcase the previous season's Super Bowl champion on opening weekend.
But JuJu Smith-Schuster was somewhat productive. Smith-Schuster led the team with 78 yards receiving on six catches, and he also drew a 10-yard pass interference penalty. Smith-Schuster is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.
Also considered were Bud Dupree, who had four tackles, one sack, and two tackles for loss; Devin Bush, who led the team with 11 tackles; and Cam Heyward, who contributed eight tackles from his defensive tackle position.
