1. Thompson was signed to a Reserve/Future Contract at the end of the 2024 season.

2. Thompson was originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh-round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He appeared in 10 games with the Dolphins over three seasons, including starting three, and throwing for 721 yards and one touchdown. He also started one postseason game

3. Thompson played college football at Kansas State, where he appeared in 45 games and completed 552 passes for 7,134 yards and 42 touchdowns as a four-year starter.

4. He started the Thompson Family Cancer Research Fund for the Johnson Cancer Research Center in memory of his late mother, Teresa Lynn Thompson, and his late grandfather, John Walter Thompson. His mother died of breast cancer when he was only six-years old, and seven months later he lost his grandfather to pancreatic cancer.

5. Got engaged to his fiancé, Bre Newcomer, in 2024.
