Cain elevated from practice squad

The Steelers elevated Deon Cain from the practice squad today to the active/inactive roster for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field.

Cain will revert back to the practice squad after the game without having to pass through waivers.

The Steelers originally signed Cain to the 53-man roster last November from the Indianapolis Colts practice squad. He played in six games for the Steelers, starting three. He has been on the practice squad since the start of the 2020 season.

Cain started three games for the Colts in 2019 and had four receptions for 52 yards. He finished the season with a combined nine receptions for 124 yards.

Cain was drafted by the Colts in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Clemson. He was injured in training camp his rookie season, spending the year on the reserve/injured list.
