Player of the Week

Warren is Steelers Digest Player of Week

JAYLEN WARREN
Running Back

"Certainly a disappointing home opener." Those were the first words out of Coach Mike Tomlin's mouth during his postgame media availability, and it's impossible to argue the point.

The offense managed just 1 touchdown and 267 total net yards. The defense allowed the Seahawks to score a first-possession touchdown for the first time since 2023. Special teams allowed a touchdown on a brain-cramp failure to cover a live ball in the end zone on a kickoff. It all added up to a 31-17 loss to Seattle on Sunday at Acrisure Stadium that dropped the Steelers to 1-1.

Jaylen Warren seemed to establish himself as the clear No. 1 running back after he led the team in rushing (14 carries for 48 yards) and receiving (4 catches for 86 yards), and his 134 yards from scrimmage was just more than half of the Steelers' 267-yard total for the game. Warren is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.

Also considered were ILB Payton Wilson, who had 9 tackles, including 1 for loss, a sack, and 1 tackle on special teams; Jack Sawyer, who had 5 tackles, including 2 for loss, a sack, and 1 tackle on special teams; Nick Herbig, who had 3 tackles, including 2 for loss, and an interception off a batted ball by Cam Heyward; and Jalen Ramsey, who had 6 tackles, 1 interception, and 2 passes defensed.
