ALEX HIGHSMITH
Outside Linebacker
It was an ugly late December day on the shores of Lake Erie, and the game played there between the Steelers and the Browns was no prettier than the weather. In the wind and the periodic precipitation that ranged from a drizzle to a downpour, Cleveland posted a 13-6 win over the Steelers to set up a winner-take-all regular season final vs. the Ravens at Acrisure Stadium.
Mother Nature was a help to both defenses at Huntington Bank Field, and the Steelers' unit recorded the game's only 2 takeaways, it had 2 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, 4 hits on the quarterback, and 4 passes defensed.
Alex Highsmith finished with 3 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 hits on the quarterback, and drew 2 penalties on the Browns' opening possession of the second half that ended with a punt. Highsmith is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.
Also considered were Kyle Dugger, who led the team with 8 tackles and had an interception; Patrick Queen, who had 6 tackles, including 1 for loss; Cam Heyward, who had 5 tackles, including 1 for loss; and Jaylen Warren, who carried 12 times for 64 yards (5.3 average).
