AARON RODGERS
Quarterback
It was everything a team in playoff contention in mid-December could want or should need from its quarterback. Aaron Rodgers completed 23-of-27 (85.2 percent) for 224 yards, with 2 touchdowns, no interceptions, and a rating of 125.9, while being in command for all of the 33:33 minutes the Steelers possessed the football.
Starting with the final possession of the first half, Rodgers engineered four straight touchdown drives that covered 58 yards in 12 plays, 71 yards in 6 plays, 72 yards in 10 plays, and 71 yards in 6 plays to turn a 3-0 deficit into a 28-3 lead on the way to a 28-15 victory for the Steelers over the Dolphins on Monday night at Acrisure Stadium.
Rodgers is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.
Also considered were DK Metcalf, who caught 3 passes for 55 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown; Kenneth Gainwell, who finished with 20 touches for 126 yards, including 80 rushing on 13 attempts (6.2 average) and 7 catches for 46 more; Cam Heyward, who had 5 tackles and a sack; Jalen Ramsey, who had 6 tackles and a sack; Patrick Queen, who had 10 tackles; and Asante Sanuel Jr., who had 2 tackles and an interception that was the only takeaway in the game.
