Los Pittsburgh Steelers visitarán a los Detroit Lions en lo que será el último partido de la pretemporada 2024 de la NFL. Los Steelers no han podido ganar sus primeros dos partidos pero hemos visto una mejoría notoria en diversas áreas del equipo, como en la defensiva y los equipos especiales, la ofensiva se espera termine de engranar todas sus piezas previo al arranque de la temporada regular con un buen partido en Ford Field.
"Tuvimos un gran jueves, simulando uno de temporada regular. Por la mañana vimos aspectos críticos de los equipos especiales y después continuamos con el desarrollo individual y con situaciones de juego, familiarizándonos con el terreno de juego, el personal y las distintas personalidades de cada integrante", comentó Coach T tras la práctica.
Aunque al momento de escribir esta nota no hay una declaración oficial sobre cuánto juego tendrán los titulares, se espera participación de todos los que estén disponibles para jugar contra los Lions.
Russell Wilson habló ante los medios de comunicación y comentó, "Estoy muy emocionado por regresar al campo. La semana pasada me sentí muy bien en mi primera vez con el uniforme completo y todo lo demás, obviamente no salimos con la victoria. Creo que lo que realmente necesitamos es ejecutar, enfocarnos en cada jugada y hacer lo que nos corresponde", fueron las palabras de nuestro quarterback.
La ofensiva de los Steelers todavía no luce en su máximo nivel, recordemos que hubo cambios significativos este año con la llegada de Arthur Smith como coordinador ofensivo y el cambio completo de quarterbacks para 2024. Es justo este tiempo en el que el equipo empieza a tomar ritmo de cara al arranque de la temporada regular y seguramente este sábado veremos más ritmo dentro de la unidad, incluyendo los ajustes en la línea ofensiva y en la ejecución del juego terrestre.
Los Lions son un equipo duro, llegaron a la final de la Conferencia Nacional la temporada pasada y llevan marca de 1-1 en la pretemporada. En su segundo juego de esta etapa no utilizaron a la mayoría de sus titulares y hasta el momento no se ha informado si tienen planeado darle juego a sus estrellas.
