The Steelers secured the services of one of their defensive leaders today when they signed inside linebacker
James Farriorto a new five-year contract through 2012. Financial terms of the deal were not released.

Farrior, a 12-year veteran who signed with the Steelers as an unrestricted free agent in 2002, has led the team in tackles four times in his six seasons with Pittsburgh. Farrior was originally drafted by the New York Jets with the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He set a career high with 175 tackles (116 solo) in 2001, his final season in New York.
