Steelers Re-Sign Veteran QB Charlie Batch

The Steelers have re-signed veteran quarterback Charlie Batch to a one-year contract, the team announced today. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Batch is now in his 15th NFL season and 11th season as a Steeler. He finished the 2011 season 15-of-24 for 208 yards and guided the Steelers to a 27-0 shutout over the St. Louis Rams in Week 16. With the win, Batch improved to 5-2 career as the Steelers starting quarterback.

Batch signed with the Steelers in 2002 after he was released by the Detroit Lions. He was originally drafted by the Lions in the second round (60th overall) of the 1998 NFL Draft.
