Steelers Promote Patrick Bailey to Active Roster; Release Donovan Woods

*PITTSBURGH —The Steelers made a roster move today when they promoted rookieLB Patrick Baileyto their active roster.

Bailey (6-4, 235) spent the first two games of the season on the Steelers' practice squad after originally signing with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent from Duke. He was then promoted to the active roster in Week 3 at Philadelphia and played two games, finishing with three special teams tackles. Bailey was then released on Oct. 4 and added to the Steelers' practice squad on Oct. 6.

The Steelers made room on their roster for Bailey by releasing rookie linebackerDonovan Woods. Woods, who originally signed with the Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent from Oklahoma State, made the team's opening day 53-man roster and played in a total of four games. He missed two games (Weeks 3-4) with a hamstring injury but had a total of five special teams tackles.
