Steelers Hire LoCascio and Gysland

The Steelers announced today the hiring of Nathan LoCascio as the team's Public Relations/Media Manager and Sonia Gysland as an assistant athletic trainer.

LoCascio comes to the Steelers after spending the last four seasons as a media relations assistant for the Arizona Cardinals. Prior to Arizona, LoCascio worked for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Amsterdam Admirals for NFL Europe. A native of Green Bay, Wisconsin, LoCascio attended the University of Wisconsin River Falls, where he also served as a training camp intern for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Gysland spent last season with the Duke Blue Devils' football team as an assistant athletic trainer. Prior to Duke, Gysland completed a graduate assistantship at the University of North Carolina. She also held internships with the Ohio State University football team during their 2009 season and the Pittsburgh Steelers during their 2008 training camp.

Gysland is only the second full-time female athletic trainer in the NFL, after replacing Ariko Iso, who is now the head athletic trainer at Oregon State University.
