*PITTSBURGH —The Steelers will kick off their 2009 preseason schedule with a nationally televised rematch of Super Bowl XLIII, when they host the Arizona Cardinals at Heinz Field on Thursday, August 13 at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
 
The game against the Cardinals will be the first of two preseason home games for the Steelers. Pittsburgh will also host the Buffalo Bills at Heinz Field (Week 3) Saturday, August 29 at 7:30 p.m. The game against Buffalo will be televised locally on KDKA-TV (Channel 2) and FSN Pittsburgh.
 
"We are excited to kick off our home preseason schedule against a tough opponent like the Cardinals," said Steelers President Art Rooney II. "It will be a good test, and a chance to relive some of the great memories from last February's Super Bowl."
 
It will be the first time that the Cardinals have played a preseason game in Pittsburgh dating back to before 1965. The teams have also played in the preseason in St. Louis (1985, '68), Norfolk, Va. ('69) and Nashville ('67). The Steelers last faced Arizona in the preseason on the road in 2006 during the inaugural game at University of Phoenix Stadium.
 
Pittsburgh will host the Bills in the preseason for the first time since 2001, the inaugural season at Heinz Field. The Steelers last played the Bills during a 2008 preseason road game in Toronto.
 
The Steelers' two preseason road games this summer include a trip to Washington in Week 2 and the preseason finale in Week 4 at the Carolina Panthers. It will be the sixth consecutive year in which the Steelers will continue their tradition of concluding their preseason schedule against the Panthers. Exact dates and times for the two road games have yet to be finalized.
