Polamalu AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Steelers safety Troy Polamaluhas been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 12 performance against the Cleveland Browns.

Polamalu registered four tackles, one sack, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one pass defensed in the Steelers 27-11 victory. The two forced fumbles were a single-game career high, giving him three this season. His first forced fumble, which he also recovered, came with under two minutes remaining in the first half and led to a field goal that gave the Steelers a 13-3 lead heading into halftime.

This marks the seventh time Polamalu has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week and the first time since 2011 (Week 17). Polamalu has now registered at least one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in the same regular season for the third time in his career (2005 and 2010).
