McCain adds depth to secondary

The Steelers have signed cornerback Brice McCain, the team announced today. Financial terms of the one-year contract were not disclosed.

McCain (5-9, 187) was originally selected by the Houston Texans in the sixth round (188th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. He has spent all five of his NFL seasons with Houston, appearing in 72 regular-season games and making 10 starts. McCain set career highs with four starts and 30 total tackles in 2013. For his career, McCain has registered 111 tackles (94 solo), five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and 32 passes defensed.

McCain has also appeared in two postseason contests, making one start and registering two passes defensed.
