Los Pittsburgh Steelers salieron con la victoria divisional de la jungla de los Cincinnati Bengals con marcador 16-10.
Fue el primer partido del equipo tras el anunció de salida de Matt Canada como Coordinador Ofensivo del equipo. El equipo lució más suelto a la ofensiva aunque en momentos críticos todavía haya puntos a mejorar.
Fue el primer partido desde la semana 2 del 2020 en el que nuestra ofensiva generó 400+ yardas en un solo juego. El juego terrestre se hizo presente con un gran partido de Najee Harris quién corrió para 99 yardas y 1 touchdown.
El drive en el que el tao tao anotó fue de las mejores de la temporada, 14 jugadas, 79 yardas en casi ocho minutos. Una locura.
El juego por aire tuvo bastante variedad, pero quién se llevó las palmas fue Pat Freiermuth, el consentido de su humilde redactor, quién se aventó un partido de 120 yardas en 9 recepciones. Pickens y Johnson firmaron un juego de 50+ yardas la tarde del domingo en Cincinnati.
"El marcador no reflejaba lo que estábamos haciendo pero así es el futbol americano, hicimos lo necesario para obtener la victoria" comentó Coach Tomlin en conferencia de prensa ante los medios de comunicación después del partido.
Kenny Pickett marcó un stat line de 24/33 pases, para 278 yardas y comentó después del juego sobre el cambió que él percibió entre los partidos anteriores y el de la semana 12 de temporada regular, "creo que estamos muy unidos en la ofensiva, coach Faulkner, coach Sullivan hicieron un gran trabajo en prepararnos durante la semana y luego nosotros supimos mantenernos unidos ante la adversidad y salir con una victoria divisional de visitantes que necesitábamos mucho, se siente bien."
La defensiva pudo aguantar el ataque terrestre de los Bengals, por aire hubo un par de chispazos de su parte pero nada que no se pudiera contener. Los Steelers registraron 4 sacks, una de ellas de T.J. Watt.
También tuvimos un intercambio de balón en contra que llegó tras un pase de anotación a Diontae Johnson que fue marcado como incompleto aunque hay un caso que se puede armar sobre el proceso de la atrapada. Una jugada después Jaylen Warren perdió el balón en un acarreo.
La defensiva también recuperó el balón con una intercepción de Trenton Thompson. Chris Boswell tuvo una tarde perfecta con 3 goles de campo, el más largo de 41 yardas.
La siguiente semana los Steelers se enfrentarán a los Arizona Cardinals en Pittsburgh, en la semana hablaremos más de ese partido.
