Steelers sign Riley for depth at safety

The Steelers added depth in the secondary with the signing of safety Curtis Riley to a one-year contract.

Riley played for the Raiders in 2019 where he played in 16 games, starting three. He finished the season with 34 tackles.

He started all 16 games for the New York Giants in 2018, tallying 75 tackles and four interceptions, including a pick-six he took in for a nine-yard touchdown against Washington.

Riley originally signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Fresno State following the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season on injured reserve and was on the Titans practice squad during the 2016 season. Riley played in seven games for the Titans in 2017, recording 12 tackles, one interception and two pass defenses.
