Head Coach Mike Tomlin
We just brought to a close a productive pre-season for us. I appreciate the efforts of all the people out there. I just told the football team that I've got a great deal of respect for how these guys competed and worked. Now we begin the process of moving forward and attacking the season, which we will do.
RE:Â Have you found a return man?
Looks like it, doesn't it? I don't make decisions. They make decisions with how they play. It's obvious that he wanted to make a decision tonight for me. I appreciate it.Â
RE:Â Cuts
We play on Thursday. We need to move, and move quickly and get about the business of preparing for Tennessee.
RE:Â Will you make all the cuts?
Yes.
RE: Ryan Mundy's performance. Did he make a decent case for himself?
Yes. Any time you run one back, that gets your attention. He played hard. A lot of guys did. We'll make our evaluations and move forward.
RE:Â Stefan Logan
That's the beauty of the National Football League. There's a bunch of those kinds of stories; guys seizing moments and opportunities. It's a beautiful thing. I'm happy for him.
RE:Â Does Redman fall into that same category?
We'll see. We've got some stiff competition at running back. A lot of guys represented themselves well. I'm not going to make decisions tonight. I'll make them tomorrow.
RE:Â Rashard Mendenhall
He took a nice step. I think he's in position to make the jump that we ask all second year guys to make. He's worked extremely hard. He's a diligent professional. I like where he is.
RE:Â Redman having a knack for scoring.
He ran pretty well.Â
PLAYERS Stefan Logan Re: Feeling confident in his performance tonight
To me, there's no time to exhale. You always have to stay humble. You have to stay fit and ready to go because you don't know what can happen because a lot of great players get cut and get released. There's always time for improvement. I made a mistake on the kickoff. They told me to down it, but it was my mistake. There's always a time for improvement, so we are going to go in there and look at the film, and we'll see what happens then.
Re: Reception from the fans in Pittsburgh
Hopefully the fans like me. Hopefully they embrace me. Hopefully they say there goes 4-1, or if my number will be changed, I don't know what my number will be. But hopefully whenever I come out, they give me a little scream like they do Troy (Polamalu) and Big Ben (Roethlisberger). I just want to do whatever I can to help us win, like I did tonight, and I just want to show coach that I can do everything out of the field. I can do punt return, kickoff return, whatever they need. When the running backs went down, I told Coach Kirby, I still have my stuff. I can get back there and do it, and he had a smile on his face. I said, I'm always ready. That's my position. So hopefully after the coaches make their evaluations, we will see. Hopefully I'm on the team, and I start kickoff and punt returning Sunday.

RE: The upcoming season
I'm looking forward to it. We'll see where the chips fall and see what happens. In the meantime, just work hard and focus on the Tennessee Titans next Thursday night. It's going to be a huge game under the lights, kicking off the NFL season. The whole nation will be watching.
RE: Clemson game on the same day as the Tennessee game
I'm very disappointed about that. But, I'm expecting big things out of the Clemson organization this year. I had the opportunity to work out with them a little bit. I did some mat drills and almost died. I realized I'm not 18 anymore. Those guys work really hard. Sweeny - the tremendous effort he's put forth to bring his philosophy to the team. He's an exciting coach. I'm looking forward to the team producing well. It's going to be a huge year for Clemson.
Isaac Redman
Re: Chances of making the roster
I feel good. Every opportunity I get, I have to make the best of it. I'm just hoping they find me a spot on the team somewhere.
Re: His contributions
I definitely think I can contribute to special teams. It's going to take some time, but hopefully I can get better and better at it.
Re: Adjusting to the pro game
It's really fast. Practice makes perfect. Practicing against the number one defense isn't too bad. It was kind of hard at first, but now I'm starting to get the hang of things. Hopefully, everything just works out for me.
Re: The defense
It makes all of us better on offense. These caliber guys, going against them everyday, it just makes you a lot better. You have to come out focused.
