Hall of Fame running back Jerome Bettis will host his annual Caring for Kids Gala on Friday, Sept. 18 and he will be honoring one of his former teammates.

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will receive the 2015 Humanitarian of the Year Award at the event for his work with the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation. Since 2007 Roethlisberger's foundation has provided grants for law enforcement agencies or fire departments in the Pittsburgh area, as well as in the cities where the Steelers play, to be used for the K9 units, bomb sniffing dogs or rescue dogs.

Roethlisberger also works closely with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, not only by spending time with wish recipients, but also providing funding that helps make the wishes possible.

The gala benefits the Jerome Bettis "The Bus Stops Here Foundation."

Tickets can be purchased by calling 412-657-3483 or via email at christina@dickersoncreative.com.
