Steelers inactives for Week 6 vs Browns

The Steelers go into today's game against the Cleveland Browns without receiver Calvin Austin III, who was ruled out on Friday after missing practice all week with a shoulder injury.

With Austin out, the Steelers will rely on a handful of other receivers to pick up the slack, including Roman Wilson and Scotty Miller.

"It's not necessarily about pulling from people that aren't here," said Coach Mike Tomlin earlier in the week. "It's about the elevational roles of guys like Roman Wilson and Scotty Miller, for example. Excited about watching those guys work and maybe get some elevated participation.

"I think that's one of the beautiful things of the journey that is a season. You're going to get faced with some challenges as a collective. One man's misfortune is another man's opportunity."

Miller said he is ready for whatever comes his way today.

"You never know when those opportunities are going to come but you better be ready for them when they come your way," said Miller. "Hopefully get some chances this week."

Miller doesn't have any receptions yet this season, but he is hoping to change that quickly.

"This is my seventh year now so I've been in a lot of different situations, definitely had one similar to this when I was in Tampa and Atlanta," said Miller. "You never know how a season's going to go but guys always go down, or something always happens.

"I've been thrust into roles, you've got to be ready. That's how you get more opportunities."

The team also signed receiver Ke'Shawn Williams from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Williams originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft.

Williams played in 59 games during his college career, starting 11 of them in his career. Williams has 2,640 all-purpose yards, including 1,833 receiving. He spent the 2024 season at Indiana where he played in 13 games with 39 receptions for 448 yards and five touchdowns. Williams spent four seasons at Wake Forest before transferring to Indiana.
