Steelers' fans can help fight hunger

On Friday, July 28, the Westmoreland County Food Bank will team up with the Pittsburgh Steelers to tackle hunger when the team kicks off training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. The Westmoreland County Food Bank will be accepting donations at their tent from noon until 6:00 p.m. and every person that contributes, will be entered into a drawing to win an autographed Cameron Heyward football. The public is encouraged to support the Food Bank by donating non-perishable food items, including such staples as peanut butter, cereal, tuna, and boxed meals like macaroni and cheese.

For nearly a decade, the Pittsburgh Steelers have graciously invited the Food Bank to participate in the team's preseason activities to aid food insecure households throughout Westmoreland County. "We thank the Pittsburgh Steelers for their work in the fight against hunger and for allowing the Westmoreland County Food Bank to be part of this longstanding tradition. Our valued partnership enables us to serve our hungry neighbors in need. This food drive is particularly important as we continue to experience cuts to traditional funding sources and the steady demand for charitable food assistance programs."
