The Steelers will be without kicker Chris Boswell after he was downgraded to out on Saturday with a groin injury and is inactive for today's game against the Indianapolis Colts at Heinz Field.
With Boswell out, the team elevated kicker Matthew Wright to the Active/Inactive roster from the practice squad. Wright was previously elevated to the Active/Inactive roster prior to the Week 13 game against Washington. He kicked a 37-yard field goal and hit both of his extra point attempts in that game.
The team will also be without multiple linebackers today, with both Marcus Allen and Ola Adeniyi inactive as they were also downgraded to out on Saturday, leaving the team thin at linebacker again. In addition, linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III was placed on the Reserve/Injured list this week.
There is good news at linebacker, though. After missing the last two games on the Reserve/COVID-19 List, Vince Williams was activated this week and will be active today. Tegray Scales was also signed to the 53-man roster on Saturday to provide depth. Scales was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 11 and was also elevated to the Active/Inactive roster in Week 14 against Buffalo and Week 15 against Cincinnati, playing in both games.
Also inactive today are quarterback Joshua Dobbs, running back Anthony McFarland Jr., who missed practice late in the week due to an illness, and defensive end Isaiah Buggs.
The Colts will be without both of their starting tackles after Anthony Castonzo was downgraded to out and Braden Smith was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 List.
