It's time to snap those pictures

Steelers fans far and wide are preparing to gather together for Steelers "World Photo Day", an annual event that is celebrated by Steelers Nation around the globe.

Each year, Steelers fans show up and show out in their Steelers attire to show support for the team prior to the season opener. This year, thousands are expected to participate and share their photos on or by Sunday, Sept. 5.

Anyone can take part – either in person if local protocols will allow or virtually with photo collages. It's recommended that for all in-person gatherings that local protocols are adhered to, which could include face coverings and social distancing.

Fans in over 90 cities and 18 countries, including the United States, Mexico, Bahamas, Hungary, Spain, UK, Argentina, Honduras, Colombia, Canada, Brazil, Italy, Panamá, Germany, Guatemala, France, Paraguay, and Chile, are expected to take part this year, but the key thing is to know – all are welcome.

The annual event was developed by Sergio Carrasco and Guillermo Vargas, two Steelers fans who live in Mexico. You can watch a video feature on them and the history of the event here: SNU Traditions: World Photo Day (steelers.com)
