Farrior is Digest Player of the Week

"I like the way the men responded in terms of delivering a winning performance," said Coach Mike Tomlin. "We got contributions from a lot of people in all three phases. I thought our leadership was spectacular today. The quarterback, Ben, was what we needed him to be. And I thought James Farrior, No. 51, was what we needed him to be today."

Tomlin went on to say that he believed the defense showed up ready to play last Sunday against the Raiders, and the statistics support his contention. And in many ways, they followed Farrior's lead.

Farrior had a team-high eight tackles, plus a sack, plus two tackles for loss, plus a pass defensed, plus everything he always does in communicating the call from the sideline and getting everyone in the right spots.

James Farrior is the Steelers Digest Player of the Week.

Also considered were James Harrison, who had five tackles, two sacks, an interception and a forced fumble; Troy Polamalu, who had five tackles and his third interception of the season; Ben Roethlisberger, who completed 18-of-29 for 275 yards, with three touchdowns, no interceptions and a passer rating of 127.8; Mike Wallace, who caught three passes for 116 yards, including a nice 52-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown; and Anthony Madison, who had four tackles on special teams.
