Steelers fans gathered at Heinz Field to meet current and alumni players for a unique fan experience.
The 2017 Fan Blitz at Heinz Field delivered a full day of excitement, autographs, photos and experiences. Among the fans in attendance was a Steelers Nation Unite member who enjoyed an unforgettable day at the team's annual draft party.
The Official Home of Steelers Nation, Steelers Nation Unite ran a sweepstakes earlier this offseason, offering members a chance to win a VIP trip to Fan Blitz and be part of the announcement of the fourth-round pick. Needless to say, Heidi Thomas of Minnesota was thrilled when she found out she had won. However, she had no idea what would be in store on this trip.
"I was ecstatic. I was super, super excited... I wasn't sure if the voicemail was real at first," she said. "So I had to go to a quiet spot to listen to this voicemail and make sure it's real."
Accompanied by her guest Migual Goana, they arrived in Pittsburgh on Friday afternoon and the arrived early at Heinz Field on Saturday for field access, a locker room tour and photo opportunities. The excitement then picked up when they got the opportunity to meet Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia from NBC's This Is Us, with whom they would later share the stage as the stars announced the Steelers fourth-round selection live on NFL Network.
From there, Thomas and Goana received another exclusive opportunity, this time to meet the Steelers draft picks from the first three rounds. Following the excitement, they were almost at a loss for words.
"It was amazing," Thomas said. "The treatment – everything that we've had, it's been amazing."
