USA Football and Pittsburgh Steelers Team Up for Youth Coaching School

The Pittsburgh Steelers and USA Football, the National Governing Body leading the development and growth of youth, high school and international amateur football, are teaming up to host a coaching school for youth football coaches in the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.

The one-day clinic is set for Saturday, May 17 (8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.) at the Steelers Training Facility (UPMC Sports Complex) in Pittsburgh, and is designed to prepare youth football coaches with the ability to teach the game of football and create a positive experience for their players, parents and assistant coaches.

This spring and summer USA Football are partnering with NFL teams and colleges to host youth football coaching clinics across the country.  The clinics will teach each youth coach effective ways to develop and organize their team, teach the proper fundamentals, implement drills and communicate with players, parents and other coaches.

Successful high school and youth coaches from the area will act as clinicians following USA Football's youth coaching principles, which focus on coaching theory, along with developing a scheme for offense, defense and special teams.

Registration is $35 if registered by May 15 and includes lunch, a USA Football t-shirt and hat, gift bag and certificate of completion. Due to space limitations, no walk-ups will be allowed.

Endowed by the NFL and NFL Players Association in 2002, USA Football helps football organizations keep the sport fun, safe and accessible by offering innovative resources focused on coaching education, league enhancement, officiating development, and health & safety awareness.  The organization also serves as the designated United States representative to the International Federation of American Football (IFAF).
