Steelers to be represented at PPK finals

The Steelers will be represented in the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick National Finals on Saturday, January 11 with Nathan Tewell of Girard, Pa., one of the 40 finalists.

Tewell will compete with four others in the boys 14-15 year old category, with the winner in each age group crowned the national champion. Each participant will have two punts, two passes and two kicks and scores will be based on distance and accuracy.

The competition will take place at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado and the winners will be acknowledged on Sunday, Jan. 12 during the third quarter of the Chargers-Broncos AFC Divisional playoff game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

"The NFL Punt, Pass & Kick program gives girls and boys around the country a way to stay healthy and active and to learn the basic skills of football," said Scott Hallenbeck, Executive Director USA Football, the official youth development partner of the NFL and all 32 teams. "We are pleased to see so many of our young fans learning about football through this program."
