Steelers 2018 schedule announced

The Steelers are accustomed to being in the national spotlight and that will be the case again this year as the 2018 schedule includes five nationally televised primetime games for the second-straight year, giving Steelers Nation plenty of opportunity to see them in action. And this year the kickoff times for all primetime games have been moved up, an effort to accommodate fans.

The Steelers kick off the season on the road against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m., the second consecutive year they open the season on the road against their AFC North rival.

Things get rolling at Heinz Field on Sept. 16, when the team hosts the Kansas City Chiefs at 1 p.m., one of six 2017 playoff teams they will face.

It's back on the road for the first of five primetime games, facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Sept. 24, with the new kickoff time for Monday Night Football at 8:15 p.m.

The team will head back to the friendly confines of Heinz Field for their only back-to-back regular season home games, hosting the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Sept. 30 in a primetime matchup, with kickoff at 8:20 p.m. The following week the Steelers play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m.

A string of AFC North games are next on the schedule; three games that will play a big role in shaping the division. The Steelers will be at the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Oct. 14, and following their bye week will host the Browns on Sunday, Oct. 28. The trifecta will be completed when they play the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 4. All three games kick off at 1 p.m.

The second half of the season kicks off with a Thursday night matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 8, with kickoff slated for 8:20 p.m. on Thursday Night Football. The primetime spotlight will shine again the following week when the Steelers head to Jacksonville for Sunday Night Football on Nov. 18 at 8:20 p.m., facing the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.

A trio of AFC West games are up next, starting on the road against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 4:25 p.m. The Los Angeles Chargers visit Heinz Field on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m., and the Steelers head to Oakland to take on the Raiders on Dec. 9 on Sunday Night Football, with kickoff at 8:20 p.m.
