Preseason opens with a super rematch

The NFL has announced the Steelers will open their 2009 preseason at Heinz Field with a nationally televised rematch of Super Bowl XLIII. The Arizona Cardinals will visit for an 8 p.m. game against the Steelers on Thursday, Aug. 13 to be broadcast by ESPN.
 
As for the rest of the Steelers 2009 preseason schedule, the team will travel to Washington to face the Redskins during Week 2 of the preseason, and then return home to take on the Buffalo Bills in Week 3.
 
The Steelers will conclude their preseason with a game against the Panthers in Carolina, before opening up their regular season against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, Sept. 10 in a game to be televised nationally by NBC.
