Washington signs tender

PITTSBURGH — Steelers' wide receiver Nate Washington has signed his one-year tender, it was announced today.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Washington (6-1, 185) will enter his fourth season with the Steelers after being signed as an undrafted free agent from Tiffin in 2005.

Washington has appeared in 33 career games, making five starts. Washington has 64 career receptions for 1,057 yards (16.5 avg.) and nine touchdowns.

His best season came in 2006 when he caught 35 passes for 624 yards (17.8 avg.) and four touchdowns. Washington set a career high with five touchdown receptions in 2007.
