Timmons left hand broken

That Lawrence Timmons made 20 tackles against the Ravens last Sunday at Heinz Field was an impressive feat, but as the circumstances under which he made those tackles comes out, it's actually amazing.

During his news conference on Tuesday, Coach Mike Tomlin said Timmons broke his left hand, "late in the third or early in the fourth quarter of the game. He was able to finish."

Tomlin indicated that Timmons is expected to play on Sunday against the Raiders in Oakland, and during his radio show that's broadcast on Monday nights, Timmons said he is planning to play on Sunday.

The following is the complete context of Tomlin's remarks about Timmons' situation during the news conference:

"Lawrence Timmons broke his left hand. That's been casted. He is ready to go. That happened late in the third or early in the fourth quarter of the game. He was able to finish. We fixed it. He has full mobility in all of his fingers, but it has been secured with a cast."
