Steelers to honor fans on Aug. 19

All 32 NFL teams will thank their fans for their passion and welcome them back to their stadiums this preseason with a Fan Appreciation Program, continuing a Back to Football tradition that began last year.

The Steelers will hold their Fan Appreciation Program on Sunday, Aug. 19, before the team hosts the Indianapolis Colts at Heinz Field.

Each club will select 90 fans to receive a special, customized Nike jersey from players, coaches and owners on the field.

Also, clubs will select 90 fans to run through the tunnel and on to the field just after the players take the field. The fans will run through the tunnel flanked by players, coaches and club owners. The fans will then be presented customized jerseys by the players, coaches and club owners. Other clubs will present the jerseys to their selected fans during a special pregame ceremony.

The NFL worked with Nike to create the special team jerseys that each fan will receive.
