The Steelers inactives today aren't as much about who is inactive, but rather who is active.
On Friday JuJu Smith-Schuster, Vance McDonald and Vince Williams were all listed as questionable for today's key AFC North matchup against the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field.
Well there is good news. All three are active and will play today.
Smith-Schuster was battling a toe injury, the same thing he was dealing with earlier in the season and missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Getting on the field on Friday was good to get him in the groove for today.
"I just wanted to get the plays down and make sure I know what I am doing," said Smith-Schuster.
With Smith-Schuster active, receiver Donte Moncrief will be inactive for the second time this season.
Today will be the first time Vance McDonald and Nick Vannett will both be active, and the they are looking forward to it.
"I think we're two very exciting players and we can do a lot," said Vannett. "It just gives the offensive coordinator plenty of options of what they want to do with us. You have both of us on the field, it just creates so many mismatch problems in the run game and in the pass game.
"I think it would be real exciting for the offense."
James Conner, who missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but returned to action on Friday after dealing with an ankle injury, is also active.
"It was good to get some rust off on Friday," said Conner. "I took a lot of mental reps this week."
Anthony Chickillo (foot) and Roosevelt Nix (knee) were both ruled out on Friday with injuries and are inactive today.
Also inactive are offensive linemen Fred Johnson and Chuks Okorafor, tight end Zach Gentry and defensive end Isaiah Buggs.
