Pregame party gets fans ready for game day

With Steelers fans all around the world fixated on Heinz Field today, the buzz continues to build as kickoff approaches. On Saturday night, fans got game day started a little bit early with a Steelers Nation Unite pregame party at Tequila Cowboy, located just steps away from Heinz Field on Pittsburgh's North Shore.

With fans coming from as far away as the United Kingdom, Mexico and the West Coast of the United States, and as close by as Pittsburgh's North Side neighborhoods, it was a way for the team to recognize the passion of these fans. With kickoff less than 24 hours away, the bar was packed with black and gold, and featured plenty of excitement, including appearances by former Steelers Charlie Batch and Shaun Suisham.

"It's unbelievable," said Batch. "You see so many people coming out here to be part of this and the one thing that shocks you is that when you ask how many people are from out of town and they all raise their hand. Just to be able to engage with the fans at this party is special."

Suisham echoed Batch's thoughts and was excited to be part of the game day fan experience, a big change from his playing days.

"I get why people tailgate now and why people are so passionate about their team. This is a great experience and it's a great opportunity to get together with their friends, cheer your team on and help the boys get a win," Suisham said. "I'm really looking forward to seeing the guys come out and perform on Sunday."

Fans in attendance also picked up new 2017 commemorative team ornaments, and a number of fans also went home with great giveaway prizes, including AFC North Division Champions hats, autographed footballs, signed jerseys and one lucky fan even scored a pair of tickets and a pregame on-field experience for the game.

Now, it's onto game day as Steelers Nation gets ready to pack Heinz Field and fans around the world ready their Terrible Towels for this highly-anticiapted matchup between the Steelers and Patriots.
