Owners decide future Super Bowl sites

NFL Owners met in Charlotte, N.C., and among the things on the agenda were the sites for future Super Bowls.

Atlanta was awarded Super Bowl LIII, to be played in February, 2019. Getting the nod for Super Bowl LIV in 2020 is South Florida/Miami. And Super Bowl LV was awarded to Los Angeles in 2021.

In addition, the NFL made changes to the instant replay rules, passing the proposal from the competition committee that allows officials to communicate with the league's officiating department in New York during replay reviews, something that was permitted in the playoffs last season. The change also defines the type of plays that are reviewable.

The rule is stated below:

"The Replay Official and designated members of the Officiating Department at the League office may consult with the on-field officials to provide information on the correct application of playing rules, including appropriate assessment of penalty yardage, proper down, and status of the game clock."
