NFL 100 - Huddle for 100 Military Charities

Military Charities

These are some of the military charities the Pittsburgh Steelers have worked with. Visit their respective websites to learn more about future volunteer opportunities, and share your experience using #SteelersHuddlefor100 #Sweepstakes.

Veterans / Military
Steelers players visit the local VA Hospitals to spend time with the patients who have served our country. At several home games each year, veterans and active military personnel are honored for their service to the United States. For Veterans Day, the Steelers honor a veteran from each of the wars going back to World War II. Color guards, representing all branches of the military, are present at each home game.

Salute To Service and Game Day
"Salute to Service is a year-round effort to Honor, Empower and Connect our nation's service members, veterans and their families. It is grounded in deep partnership with nonprofits and organizations that support the military community in the United States and across the world" - NFL.

The Pittsburgh Steelers honor active duty military, veterans and their families across all platforms. The team's annual Salute To Service game serves as a tribute to the armed forces, and a platform to empower the brave men and women that serve and served to protect our country.

In 2018, the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted various military charities pre-game along Art Rooney Avenue. The charities represented included: Fisher House; PA Wounded Warrior; Red, White, and Blue; The Mission Continues; Guardian Angel Service Dogs; Operation Troop Appreciation; Blue Star Mothers along with all five branches of the military.

Adventures in Training with a Purpose (ATP)
Adventures in Training with a Purpose (ATP) was created to confront health and movement related issues in vulnerable populations who no longer have the benefit of paid rehabilitation. ATP is a nonprofit 501c(3) organization with the stated mission of working towards a world where no one is held prisoner to his/her health related limitations. The first word - Adventure, is intended to encourage participants to embark on an adventure that has no guarantees, but holds the promise that it will be challenging and meaningful. Training is the vessel builds an individual's armor and moves them towards the goal that will combine to create a fulfilling Purpose in life.
