Football Mentor/Inspiration: Just my family in general, my dad. He really backed me up when I played high school ball. He got my scout film out to all the colleges.
Proudest Football Moment/Memory: Getting drafted to the Steelers. It was a big moment. I was with my whole family. It was a real big moment.
Favorite Teammate: I hang out with the drafted players I came in with. I hang out with Jarvis (Jones) a lot, Vince Williams, Shamarko Thomas. I hang out with all those guys."
Initial NFL Attraction: I played high school ball. Once I got a scholarship I figured I was pretty good at football and fell in love with the game.
Football Philosophy: I'm always humble. It's a humbling experience being in the league with the best of the best. I try to learn, try to take each year and get better and learn.
Impression of Pittsburgh: I love it. I'm from Birmingham, AL,, and Birmingham is a smaller Pittsburgh. I feel right at home.
Perception of Steelers: Tradition and family. It's just one big family here and that's what I feel every day. I love coming in to work and not too many people can say that.
Goals/Aspirations for 2014: Get as much knowledge about the game as I can and just keep getting better. Show the coaches what I can do again and hopefully go into training camp injury free and make a big impact and help out the defense this year.
Career Goals: Win the Super Bowl most of all, everybody wants that. But just be respected among older Steelers and among Steelers that have paved the way.
