STEELERS CHALLENGE KIDS TO TRAIN LIKE THE PROS

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Gatorade Junior Training Camp prior to the night practice on Tuesday, August 5, at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, home of Steelers' Training Camp.

The camp is available to boys and girls ages 7-14, and is free of charge.  The program emphasizes friendly competition over winning and teaches important values that can be learned from playing sports including responsibility, teamwork and sportsmanship. The camp also highlights basic health and fitness training for active youth and the importance of the proper nutrition while playing sports.

The session can hold up to 250 children, and will run from 1:30-3:30 p.m., as the Steelers will be hosting their second night practice of the 2008 training camp. The children will participate in non-contact drills and pep talks showing them that there is much more to playing football than just having the right moves.

Children must register as it is on a first-come, first-serve registration, and the deadline to register is Friday, August 1. The session will fill up quickly.

To register, log on to www.steelers.com to download the forms, or call 412-697-7713 for moreinformation.
