DeCastro to IR; Van Dyke signed

PITTSBURGH — The Steelers placed David DeCastro on the Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return List, the team announced today. Due to the new rule, DeCastro will be eligible to return after spending at least eight weeks on Reserve/Injured.

DeCastro suffered a knee injury in the Steelers' third preseason game at Buffalo. He was the Steelers' first-round selection (24th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.

To fill their 53-man roster, the Steelers have signed second-year free agent cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Van Dyke will wear No. 30.

Van Dyke was originally drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the third round (81st overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami.
