By the Numbers: Breaking down the 53-man roster

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Some numbers of interest following the announcement of the Pittsburgh Steelers' 53-Man Roster.

The newest member of the Steelers defense, cornerback Ross Cockrell, was selected 109th overall by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Cockrell will wear No. 31.

Defensive end and 2015 sixth-round (199th overall) Draft pick L.T. Walton changed his number to 96 following the Steelers' announcement of the 53-man roster.

The number of fullbacks the Steelers have on their active roster, including Will Johnson and Roosevelt Nix. You may remember Roosevelt Nix as the player who blocked the Carolina punt in the team's final preseason game.

For once, we're not talking about our quarterback. Seven rookies made the Steelers' 53-Man Roster. They are WR Sammie Coates, WR Tyler Murphy, CB Doran Grant, LB Bud Dupree, LB Anthony Chickillo, TE Jesse James, and DE L.T. Walton.

The new number for linebacker and 2015 sixth-round (212th overall) Draft pick Anthony Chickillo. He was formerly No. 40.

The number of players listed as playing two positions - C/G Cody Wallace, T/G Kelvin Beachum and WR/RB Dri Archer. Tyler Murphy was listed as a QB/WR during the preseason, but is now listed only as a wide receiver.
