Bruener hired as college scout

PITTSBURGH ─ The Steelers announced today that Mark Bruener has been added to the team's scouting department, where he will serve as a college scout.

Bruener played tight end with the Steelers for nine seasons (1995-03) after being drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round of the 1995 NFL Draft. He finished his playing career with the Houston Texans from 2004-08. Bruener spent this past summer interning with the Steelers' scouting department during training camp.

Note: The Steelers also announced three rookie number changes. CB Crezdon Butler will wear No. 28, RB Jonathan Dwyer will wear No. 27 and LB Stevenson Sylvester will wear No. 55.
