Bobby April, the Steelers special teams coordinator from 1994-95 under Bill Cowher, was interviewed by Coach Mike Tomlin for the same position.

April most recently was the assistant head coach/special teams coordinator for the Buffalo Bills. April interviewed for the position that opened when Bob Ligashesky was let go.

The team has granted permission for Omar Khan and Lou Spanos to interview with other teams.   Khan, the team's football and business administration coordinator, is scheduled to interview with the Seattle Seahawks for their general manager position. Khan is the team's chief negotiator.

Spanos, a defensive assistant with the Steelers for 15 seasons, will interview with the Washington Redskins where new head coach Mike Shanahan is putting together his staff.

Spanos joined the Steelers as a scouting intern in 1994 and then moved to his current position of defensive assistant where he assists the linebackers and the defensive coaching staff with drills, game preparation and other duties.
